Mission

The National Corvair Museum is an enterprise of the Corvair Preservation Foundation.  The mission of the Corvair Preservation Foundation is to preserve the history and significance of the Chevrolet Corvair for enthusiasts; and educate anyone interested in understanding the unique design and cultural impact of this automobile. 

We achieve this by:

  • Serving as the central resource for preserving and advancing the legacy and history of the Corvair.
  • Preserving Corvair History through sourcing, archiving, and maintaining the most accurate and complete history of the Chevrolet Corvair and the Corvair Society of America.
  • Enhancing Artifact Accessibility: Preserve key Corvair artifacts, utilize technology to create a robust virtual museum experience, make our physical museum's assets more accessible to a global audience.
  • Prioritizing Technical Resources: Centralize and digitize a comprehensive library of repair manuals, parts lists, and technical documents to provide essential support to our supporting members for maintenance, restoration, and preservation efforts.

  • Creating scholarship opportunities for young emerging automotive enthusiasts.
  • Empowering enthusiasts to collaboratively share knowledge and solve technical challenges.

CPF Funding - Distinct from CORSA. An important distinction between CORSA and the CPF is that each group is fully independent of the other in terms of all financials, memberships, and general operations.  Each has its own board of directors (CORSA) or trustees (CPF).  Specifically, the CPF is 100% funded purely from its own tax-deductible memberships and donations.  Moreover, membership in CORSA does not provide membership in the CPF – and vice versa.  While enthusiasts are welcome and encouraged to join both, it is also worth noting that CORSA membership is not required for CPF membership only.  That said, CORSA and the CPF do share general Business Office resources to optimize collaborative initiatives, communication, and expenses.
